On Shore Weed Control

RLIA voted to contribute $200.00 towards the cost of “on shore” weed control.  This vote was taken at the November 16th, 2019 meeting of the RLIA.

The specifics and requirements of the program contribution are as follows:

  • Members must be current on dues as of 4/15/2020
  • The contribution applies to one property per membership only
  • Service provider is selected by the member, not RLIA
  • Service is limited to a maximum of 150 feet into the lake from member’s shoreline.  Maximum width of treatment area is determined by provider in conjunction with State of Minnesota Regulations
  • Service provider must be certified and in compliance with all State of Minnesota rules and regulations in connection with the treatment as well as being able to acquire all permits necessary prior to application
  • Service provider must be willing to accept the terms of RLIA as it relates to payment of the $200.00 credit issued on behalf of the member
  • Credit amount can only be paid directly to the service provider.  Members cannot receive funds directly from RLIA
  • The contribution does not qualify as an endorsement or guaranty of any service provided.  RLIA does not direct the process nor can we assume any responsibility for the outcome.

There are a number of providers that are qualified to perform the work.  RLIA has worked with three different providers in the past that are familiar with and have agreed to work with our members related to this program as it relates to the payment of the credit.  Those providers are:

It is important to note that when you select a provider, you are entering into an agreement for services with the provider, not RLIA.  All communication, scheduling, and services mus be completed by and between the provider and the member.

As in the past, RLIA is pleased to be in a position to offer this benefit to its members again in 2020.
